ASUS today held the regional launch of its K Series notebooks, intended as a "premium but affordable" range that will appeal to a wide market.

"With the new K series, you have exclusive ASUS design and features being paired with an affordable price point - this type of value is simply unheard of elsewhere in the mainstream notebook segment," said Leon Yu, Regional Director for ASUS.

Although the series has been designed with portability in mind, ASUS hopes the new third-generation Intel Core processors and NVIDIA GeForce 600 series graphics will impress gamers and multimedia enthusiasts alike.

Performance features include the SuperBatt system that ASUS claims will give the K Series a battery life "three times that of a typical notebook", while the ergonomic IceCool technology keeps the palm rest at a lower temperature.
