There are fresh rumours that IBM is in talks with Research in Motion to acquire its enterprise business.

Bloomberg has reported that IBM has an informal interest in RIM, according to ‘people familiar with the situation'.  Allegedly, IBM's interest is with RIMs enterprise wing that runs a network of secure servers for email and messaging on BlackBerry devices.

The anonymous source also made clear that there is no interest in RIM's mobile manufacturing division.

It is said that RIM's CEO, Thorstens Heins will wait for the launch of BlackBerry 10 before deciding the next move. It was previously announced that RIM may license out BlackBerry OS to other smartphone manufacturers.

Amidst this speculation, RIM's shares saw as much as a 7.1% rise. RIM also had another glimmer of hope last week when a judge ruled to throw out a multi-million dollar lawsuit against the company.
