Vodafone Egypt picks Ericsson for network upgrade
Ericsson will deploy its RBS 6000 technology in Vodafone's network
Vodafone Egypt has selected Ericsson to transform its network. The aim is to provide Egyptian subscribers with high-speed mobile broadband and connectivity on the move with mobile TV and internet.
Ericsson will deploy its RBS 6000 technology in Vodafone's network which is an energy efficient compact site solution that supports GSM/EDGE, WCDMA/HSPA and LTE in a single package.
Hatem Doweidar, Vodafone Egypt CEO said: "Working with a partner like Ericsson on such an important project will enable us to meet our customer's expectations knowing that we can offer all our customers the services, speeds and experience they expect, now and in the future."
Being a multi-standard base station, RBS 6000 will not only ensure an effective transition to other technologies in the future, but will also reduce operational expenses and reduce environmental impact.
