How would you summarise your role?

As the Middle East regional sales director, I am in charge of planning, strategy and execution for the Ruckus Wireless portfolio sales, marketing and channel eco-system development.

What’s the first thing you do when you get in the office each day?

I always prioritise my objectives for the day and see to it that they are followed through.

What does a typical day entail for you?

My day entails the following: channel engagement and support, and new customer acquisition across the Middle East region. Ruckus has a very strong presence in the hospitality space, but we are actively working to see our smart Wi-Fi products in all kinds of enterprises across the region.

What skills or qualities do you need to do your job?

Time management, target achievement skills, executive relationship building and the associated people skills required.

What’s your favourite part of the job?

Every day is a new opportunity to succeed and to learn from yesterday’s mistakes.

What’s the hardest part of your job?

The difficult part of my job is trying to maximise reach for customers and channel partners in different countries and time zones.

What criteria do you measure your performance on?

The criteria I use to measure my performance is target achievement, customer and channel partner success stories and feedback.

What’s been your most memorable moment in your current role?

It is too early to say as I have only been with Ruckus for a few months now.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

In five years time from now, I will be managing a bigger region and team, and expanding Ruckus Wireless’ presence across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and Pakistan region.

How much time do you spend out of the office each week?

Each week varies but I spend a significant amount of time on the road. Of course, I look forward to seeing my wife and two daughters when I come home.

What do you get up to during your lunch hour?

Enjoy lunch with colleagues or channel partners, keeping business discussions to an absolute minimum.
