Lenovo has announced the availability of two new U-Series Ultrabooks.

The IdeaPad U310 and U410 Ultrabooks are available from today. Both devices are intended to provide powerful computing in a thin and light form factor, with superior battery life.

The U310 has a 13.3 inch screen, is 18mm thick and weighs 1.7kg, and provides up to seven hours of battery life. The 14 inch U410 is 21mm thick, weighs 1.9kg, and offers nine hours battery life. Both Ultrabooks use third generation Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processors, with Nvidia GeForce Graphics, up to 1TB of storage, Dolby Home Theatre v4 and Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) to project content wirelessly onto large screens.

The Ultrabooks also come with Lenovo Enhanced Experience 3, which uses RapidBoot technology for start-up and resume from sleep mode that is up to 40% than non-optimized devices. Lenovo Smart Update automatically updates email, IM chats and social media messages even when in sleep mode.

The Ultrabooks are available in a range of colours, including Sapphire Blue, Aqua Blue, Cherry Blossom Pink, Graphite Grey or Metallic Red. Prices start around $1,000.

"Ultrabooks are an industry game changer that shift not only the way people think about laptop design, but also how much performance technology can be packed into such a thin and light device," said Jack Lee, general manager MEA, Lenovo. "Lenovo Ultrabooks free people from having to choose between a device with a productivity-focused user experience and one with a style and design that inspire their creativity. The IdeaPad U Series Ultrabooks embody this convergence and are the perfect tool for consumers to manage every aspect of their digital lives."

"The IdeaPad U310 and U410 Ultrabooks deliver on the next generation mobile computing experience," said Kirk Skaugen, vice president and general manager of Intel's PC Client Group. "Working with Lenovo, we've delivered stunning visuals and amazing performance with our 3rd generation Intel Core processors in exceptionally thin and light designs that meet the needs of today's most demanding mobile users."
