Regional IT distributor, Emitac Distribution, has strengthened its senior management team following a reshuffle at the company.

The restructuring is part of a stated strategy by the company to ring in efficiencies and grow Emitac's distribution business across the Middle East.

Under the changes, Patrick Mulligan has been promoted from general manager to assume the position of CEO, while Vineeth Sebastian will head Sales and Marketing after joining Emitac from rival Metra Computer.

In other changes at the distributor, Abdalla Mustafa, formerly sales director is now regional director, and will be responsible for regional market management and development.

Mustafa's new position as regional director will see him take a leading role in growing Emitac Distribution operations across the region. He will be responsible for channel development and profitable growth in Emitac Distribution's regional markets of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, Libya, Bahrain, Oman, Yemen and Qatar. Mustafa will also be responsible for developing new market opportunities.

The latest  top management changes, follow the appointments earlier this year of Rajesh Goel as head of Emitac Services and Carlos Tannous as head of Emitac's Value Add Business.

"These appointments are strong tangible evidence of Emitac's commitment to grow our business in Middle East and Africa," said Mulligan. "I am excited by the potential of this team to help Emitac become the ‘best' distributor in the region. By best, I mean the distributor that both the channel partners and vendors alike say is the best, and is therefore the company they prefer to deal with. This is what we want to be."
