Vineeth Sebastian joins Emitac Distribution Sebastian plans to grow Emitac's volume business in untapped markets across the GCC region.

Regional distributor, Emitac Distribution has appointed Vineeth Sebastian as its new head of Sales & Marketing for the company's volume business in the GCC region and KSA.

Sebastian brings with him vast channel experience to his new role having served in the IT industry and regional channel for some time. He has worked in a series of channel roles and latterly served in a similar role at rival Egypt-headquartered Metra Computer in Dubai.

Sebastian said in an interview with Channel Middle East, that his main aim is to grow Emitac's volume business in the GCC region including the KSA by enhancing the current product array in the unit. "We have a great mix of offerings in this unit that include personal computing, imaging and printing, accessories and components solutions," he said. "We want to grow this business and it is my aim to ensure that we achieve this."

Sebastian said the plan is to expand Emitac's volume business into untapped markets with potential across the GCC region. "We will be starting by identifying new business through the vendors that we intend to bring on board. A larger part of my role will focus on identifying the ‘right' vendor partners that will help to augment our volume business given the volatility that this segment has experienced over the last three years in the Middle East," he said.

Sebastian added that the volume business unit will also explore ways of strengthening its components portfolio and expand the product breadth and solutions needed to stay competitive in this sector.

"Our vision is to extend the business focus in the volume business across the region, open new channels and develop alliances with new vendors," he said. "At the same time, we will continue our focus in fast growing markets in the GCC that include Kuwait, Qatar and the UAE.

Aside from the region focus, Sebastian pointed out that channel partners across the regional can expect a lot more vertical focus and product offerings from Emitac that back this push.

Sebastian's arrival at Emitac is in line with the company's streamlining initiatives that have been happening over the last 12 to 18 months.

Emitac Distribution has over the last 18 months, been taking steps to diversify its portfolio and reduce reliance on core brands.
