EMC introduces new partner cloud initiatives
EMC has launched new cloud certifications and solutions to help partners deliver cloud
EMC has announced new partner initiatives, certifications and solutions, to help its channel ecosystem to deliver cloud solutions to customers.
The new cloud portfolio, announced at EMC World 2012 in Las Vegas, builds on EMC's recently launched channel-only VSPEX Proven Infrastructure and VMAX Service Provider Platform, to give partners more expertise, more support and tailored solutions that will help them to provide customers with cloud infrastructure or develop their own cloud services.
EMC has introduced two new EMC Velocity Cloud Practices, certifications for partners that are able to demonstrate high levels of competence in pre-sales, sales and services, across a broad set of technology solutions. The Cloud Builder Practice is intended for partners that will design, build and manage cloud infrastructures based on EMC technology, while the Cloud Provider Practice enables Velocity Solution Provider partners with advanced capabilities to design, build and operate their own branded IT-as-a-Service cloud offerings based on EMC technology.
Partners will be able to access branded capabilities; purpose built products; EMC's ‘open' cloud training program, the EMC Proven Professional Cloud Architect; access to new EMC cloud solutions and services such as Storage-as-a-Service, Backup-as-a-Service, Rapid Launch, Cloud Advisory, Field Enablement and Remote Monitoring, to create new business opportunities, and EMC's newly launched Cooperative Services.
EMC Cooperative Services for its Velocity Specialty Partners, will support the partners with additional services support from EMC and EMC Global Services, that will help them address large customer projects while still retaining the customer relationship.
EMC also introduced the new EMC VNXe 3150. Optimized for organizations building virtualized, private cloud environments, the VNXe3150--which is built for the channel--offers 50% more performance and capacity per rack unit, while retaining industry-leading simplicity for IT generalists managing virtual environments
Gregg Ambulos, senior vice president of Global Channel Sales, EMC Corporation commented: "Cloud computing represents a huge market opportunity for EMC's partners. Our new Velocity Cloud Practices enable and support them in developing the expertise required to accelerate their clients' journey to the cloud. Today's announcement is another example of EMC's commitment to advancing our partners' skill set, sales opportunities and differentiation in the market. We are 100% focused on delivering our Velocity partners the best technology and the most comprehensive and rewarding partner program in the industry."
