Asbis signs as Acer distributor for KSA
Distribution deal will see Asbis supply the KSA channel with Acer's entire product range
Regional distributor, Asbis Middle East has signed a distribution deal with PC vendor Acer for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) market.
The accord will see Asbis supply the KSA channel with the entire range of Acer's products in that country. In addition, Asbis states that the addition of Acer will cement its push in the retail sector in the Kingdom as Acer has a comprehensive retail portfolio.
According to Asbis, the deal complements its existing range of PC offerings and opens up new opportunities for the company and channel partners to explore business prospects in the fast growing retail market in the Kingdom.
Hesham Tantawi, vice president, Middle East, Turkey and Africa (META) at Asbis, said Acer is a leading brand in the notebook and PC space and the company is delighted to have tied this deal as these solutions will offer broader opportunities for retailers and resellers in KSA.
Tantawi said as Asbis looks to cement its presence in the Kingdom, it is vital that the company partners with vendors that have been growing in the Middle East rapidly. “Acer product offerings will offer resellers the opportunity to widen their revenue streams. "We believe in Acer, we have within our stable a brand that will help us to grow our business and presence in the KSA channel market," he said.
Tantawi said the addition of Acer's products will not only harmonise the current product portfolio in the Kingdom, but will also strengthen the company's offerings and help channel partners to offset some of the challenges they have been experiencing as a result of declining margins especially in the components segment.
