Brocade has joined EMC's new SMB virtualisation and cloud initiative, the company has announced.

The EMC VSPEX Proven Infrastructure solutions are pre-tested and integrated solutions from EMC and its partners, to help SMB and smaller enterprise organisations to easily select the right technologies to launch virtualisation and cloud solutions.

An VSPEX Networking Provider, Brocade's ICX Switches, VDX Switches and 6510 Fibre Channel Switches have been certified for inclusion in the program. VSPEX providers are selected based on an open approach, to offer best of breed solutions that have been tested for integration, to allow customers to select technologies that offer investment protection, with less complexity and less risk.

Brocade will support the VSPEX initiative with its channel partners, with the delivery of reseller programs focused on VSPEX solutions. The channel programs will include discounts on demonstration units, extra percentage points for deal registration and specialised Brocade Rewards bonuses to further incentivize VAR sales representatives.

"Brocade's decade-plus partnership with EMC has generated a solid relationship built upon the successes of mutual partners and customers, as well as the common belief that certain technology solutions should be offered on an open-standards basis," said Gregg Ambulos, senior vice president, global channel sales, at EMC Corporation.

"Through the years, we've worked together to integrate best of breed products from across Brocade's vast networking portfolio with outstanding results, so we're very excited about the inclusion of Brocade technologies within VSPEX Proven Infrastructure to deliver flexibility and choice to customers," he added.
