VirtuPort announces the 2nd Middle East & North Africa Information Security Conference – MENA ISC 2012 to be held under the patronage of H.E. Basem Al Rousan, Minister of Communications, Information and Technology at the Kempinski Hotel – Dead Sea on April 18th and 19th, 2012 with a Pre-Conference Workshop scheduled for April 17th in conjunction with the International Information Systems Security Consortium Committee – (ISC)2.

Spending on IT Security will continue to grow as institutions from all verticals including e-Government, Banking & Finance, Healthcare, Oil & Gas, etc. look to increase their information security awareness and readiness and comply with new regulations. According to forecasts by IDC, spending on IT vendors by the sector will grow by 12 per cent through 2013. IT Security Spending including hardware, software, services and outsourcing continue to be CIO’s top 3 priorities.

The year 2011 and start to 2012 has seen the region have an increase in Cyber Security threats which threatened both private and public sectors in the MENA region. Cyber Defense” is the theme of this year’s MENA ISC 2012 which is expected to draw over 300 senior information security professionals and business executives.
