Lenovo is set to provide cloud storage solutions as standard on its PCs and tablet devices from April.

The PC hardware vendor has partnered with cloud provider SugarSync, to launch the Lenovo Cloud Storage service, which will be integrated with new Lenovo PCs and tablets, or can be downloaded directly.

The Lenovo Cloud Storage services will provide automated synchronisation and back up of a wide range of file types, including photos, music and movies. Users will receive a free 5GB account, with additional storage available for a fee.

The service not only works with Lenovo products, but also with Internet-based products from other manufacturers across a broad array of devices, including laptops, smartphones and tablets and across all major operating systems.

The service includes features to select which files or types of files are managed by Lenovo Cloud Storage, they can post links so that friends can download files direct from the cloud, and users can even access their data when they aren't connected to the Internet using SugarSync's two-way AutoSync technology.

The service also includes functions to automatically organize photos in albums, and to post photos and videos from Android devices as soon as they are taken.

"Lenovo Cloud Storage by SugarSync makes it incredibly simple and convenient for people to interact with their growing libraries of digital content, from anywhere, at anytime," said Mark Cohen, distinguished engineer and vice president, Lenovo. "Lenovo Cloud Storage plays a fundamental role in our plan to expand Cloud services, bringing even more new capabilities to consumers and businesses around the world."

"Today people need to work with their data across all of their devices, while also being able to easily share and collaborate on that data from anywhere," said Laura Yecies, CEO of SugarSync. "Lenovo Cloud Storage by SugarSync enables people to access, sync and share their digital lives across all computers and mobile devices. This partnership with Lenovo will give the many millions of Lenovo customers a seamless way to start using the Cloud for ultimate productivity with Lenovo ThinkPad and IdeaPad laptops and Android tablets - right out of the box."

Lenovo has a good brand image and a good strategy . However the execution is lacking which will reflect in leveling sales very soon.
