Motorola has released its Motorola XOOM 2 tablet in the UAE.

The tablet, Motorola's second product in the tablet category, runs on Android 3.2, with a 1.2GHz dual core processor, with 1GB RAM and 16GB storage.

The tablet has a 10.1 inch HD widescreen, with Corning Gorilla Glass, and a splashguard casing.

The device has 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, and 1.3MP front and 5MP rear-facing HD cameras.

In terms of software, the Xoom 2 includes the MotoCast app that lets users stream music, photos, videos and documents between a PC and the tablet without any media tools, apps, or cords, and business ready features like VPN support and data encryption.

"Tablets are quickly becoming a must-have tool across the Middle East for staying connected, getting work done and having fun both at home and on the road," said Raed Hafez, general manager for Motorola Mobility, Middle East & Africa.

"Everyone from tech obsessives to families are moving beyond the static desktop and laptop status quo to embrace the sheer versatility, power and converged multimedia experience only the tablet can offer. Motorola XOOM 2 is a bold statement of intent from Motorola Mobility and we are confident it will make a notable and influential mark in this fast-emerging market."
