Qtel wins telecoms deal for new Doha airport The new Doha airport is expected to open in December.

Qatar Telecom (Qtel) has won the contract to provide telecoms infrastructure for the new Doha airport.

The telecoms operator told Reuters that it has so far spent QR37m ($10.2m) on building out telecoms infrastructure for the new building.

The new airport, which is expected to open in December, will cost $11bn.

Qtel won the contract through a bidding process that included 15 companies.
