FDC International, one of the largest value-added distributors (VAD) of IT products in the Middle East region, has revealed that it has opened the first service centre in Iraq.

Dubbed the FDC Service Center, the facility is aimed at assisting the distributor to ease the challenges customers face when servicing their IT products in that market.

According to FDC, customers can now invest in IT components and laptops with the peace-of-mind that the manufacturer's warranty offered locally will come bundled with the products.

This new service centre, which is located in Baghdad, is staffed with highly skilled, vendor certified personnel trained to resolve after-sales service issues, diagnosis and repair, says the distributor. The centre is also complimented by FDC's value added services and support offering, and customers are guaranteed to get quality service in the fastest turn-around time (TAT), says FDC.

"We built this service centre in Iraq to provide the local market with the best after-sales service. It was necessary to make our team of certified, in-house and highly experienced technical engineers available to ensure resolution of any technical issues in Iraq. We have also staffed the centre with a second line of specialised engineers for maximum support at all levels. The FDC Service Center is an important step that underlies FDC's commitment to this exciting region as it serves to further solidify the FDC brand in the MENA market," said Alan Pourmirza, infrastructure manager, FDC.
