Google features Ibn Battuta Doodle Google has celebrated explorer Ibn Battuta's 707th birthday with a Google Doodle featuring his exploits.

Google featured a Google Doodle celebrating the famous Moroccan explorer, Ibn Battuta on his 707th birthday.

The Doodle, which went up on 25th February pays tribute to Battuta through a range of scenes from his adventures through Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and China.

The Doodle is designed to represent Battuta's over 100,000 kilometre journey and the many different monuments he visited.  The interactive doodle conceals 16 different monuments for the viewer to discover.

Google has previously used its Doodle to celebrate different people, events or special dates such as holidays, anniversaries, and the lives of famous artists and scientists.
