Software security company Vasco Data Security International, which specialises in authentication products has established its new regional headquarters at Dubai Silicon Oasis, according to Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA).

The company plans to benefit from a growth in the Middle East security software market.

"The Middle East remains a lucrative market for our operations. Secure online banking, e-commerce, e-government and enterprise security are our key markets, which are crucial requirements for leading enterprises based in the region. Dubai Silicon Oasis was a natural choice through its offer of an ideal environment to manage our existing relationships and nurture new ones. We are convinced that working closely with local distributors, many of who are present within DSO, will open up exciting avenues for growth," said T Kendall Hunt, founder, CEO and chairman of Vasco Data Security.

With a large customer base of financial institutions including Arab Bank in the UAE and Riyadh Bank in Saudi Arabia, Vasco is poised to increase its market share in the financial sector through its range of authentication solutions and services.

"It is our pleasure to welcome Vasco Data Security to DSO. We are privileged that the integrated free zone technology park continues to attract leading global players planning their critical Middle East strategy. The trend motivates us to continue providing world-class amenities that serve as an enabler for meeting their business objectives," said Dr Juma Al Matrooshi, executive vice president of Business Development at Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority.
