Qualcomm and Mobily to boost KSA developers
Qaulcomm and Mobily to work together to support local development community
Qualcomm and Saudi mobile operator Mobily have announced plans to work together to build the local developer community in the country.
The two have agreed on broad collaboration, which will offer Mobily developers technology resources, development tools and training, along with special developer events to encourage the development of Arabic-language applications and local applications targeted at Saudi users.
Qualcomm will also participate in the Mobily Developer Forum in May 2012, to build links with the Mobily developer community, and give them more access to information and tools for development.
Mohammed Saad Beseiso, chief consumer officer of Mobily, said: "Qualcomm is one of the world's leading providers of technology to the mobile industry and to application developers. This collaboration will strengthen the mobile community in Saudi and will ultimately benefit consumers who use the apps, as well as the local economy, which benefits from entrepreneurship."
Jihad Srage, president of Middle East, Africa and Central Asia operations at Qualcomm, added: "Saudi Arabia has one of the highest rates of mobile usage in the Arab world, and consumers are demanding content that is relevant to their location, their language and their culture. By providing apps developers with sophisticated development technologies and guidance, Qualcomm and Mobily are working together to empower Saudi Arabia's growing legion of entrepreneurial apps developers and the entire Saudi mobile ecosystem."
