UAE telco Du experienced an outage on its fixed-line network in Dubai today, with fixed-line services to businesses in Du areas including Dubai Media City and Dubai International Financial Centre out of action for almost three hours from around 1pm.
The outage occurred after technicians at Du attempted to carry out an upgrade on the telco's PRI (Primary Rate Interface) line, according to a technician at the operator, who preferred to remain anonymous.
The outage affected incoming and outgoing calls, and services appeared to have fully resumed by 4pm.

Get Etisalat. DIFC and DMC should allow Etisalat to come into their Premise so that their clientele can choose between Etisalat and DU. It is high time DIFC showed some maturity and let quality of service and competition step in.

How come DU techs have upgrading their network during working hours specially during high traffic flow time(midday)..No wonder those camels have no brains..Who has approved these work to be carried out on day time..May be another no brain camel. As a norm, all the upgrades should be carried out after 11pm and should complete before 7am next day. I am talking about developed world...They only know how to increase the price of oil..What engineers were doing while techs were doing the upgrades?? 4hrs outage is enormous on high traffic time...Unbeleivable !! So who is going home or sacked or punished from DU ?? Sorry for the customers with no comms for 4hrs...DU should offer compensation...
