Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB), the world's first fully-fledged Islamic bank has implemented an integrated process oriented solution to streamline its IT operations and proactively monitor its business critical IT infrastructure, with the objective of delivering uninterrupted and uncompromised services to its end users.

The solution was developed and implemented by Emitac Enterprise Solutions (EES). A well thought out and effectively managed IT integration plan was developed by the Enterprise Management solutions team of EES to ensure alignment of business and IT functions, lower costs and simplify the IT environment for the end-user. An integrated solution of Network Management, Operations Management, Business Service Management and IT Service Management was implemented to enhance efficiency of operations and take customer service to the next level.

With the implementation of this solution, DIB's IT team is able to proactively and efficiently monitor its business critical services and supporting infrastructure with the help of HP Business Services Management, Operations Management, and Network Management solutions. The solutions help the team monitor over 200 Servers and 400 Network Devices that support its operations and business services.

The IT Helpdesk team of DIB serves around 3,000 end users. With the easy to use interface, the end users (bank tellers, non-IT staff, administrators and IT Staff) are now able to quickly log, track and update requests, which means that the helpdesk's time is effectively used in handling critical requests rather than attending to phone calls from end users.

DIB's IT team is now able to track, resolve, analyse and report events in its IT Infrastructure and effectively control IT Changes using the HP Service Manager's Change Management Suite, thereby drastically reducing the business impact of unscheduled and ad hoc changes in the environment.

The solution also gives complete visibility to the number of change requests, affected CI's, outage schedules and service impact reports. The IT change management team is now able to effectively control, monitor and fulfill change requests without affecting business services, thereby avoiding incidents that may occur due to improper/uncontrolled changes on IT systems and providing a complete history of changes to the audit teams for compliance purposes.
