Apple has released a software update for iPhones, iPads and iPods, designed to fix a problem that is shortening battery life on some devices, according to the Press Association.
Some customers have been reporting a lower than expected battery life on devices running the iOS 5 operating system, which comes with the new iPhone 4S and was available as a free upgrade for some older devices.
Apple has released version 5.0.1 to fix the bugs it found with the software and users can download it from iTunes.
The new software update also includes better voice recognition for Australians using dictation.
