BlackBerry Alliance Member, Asgatech, has developed a BlackBerry smartphone app that provides a range of tools to help Hajj and Umrah pilgrims during their pilgrimage to Mecca.

The Hajj and Umrah rituals guide app, available on BlackBerry App World, comes with support for six different languages; Arabic, English, Turkish, Farsi, Urdu and Bahasa.

The app features narrated videos of Hajj and Umrah rituals, from the period before Ihram until the end of the pilgrimage, with illustrations, pictures and videos; detailed information about al-Ihram, Miqats of Ihram and guidance for Umrah; videos and detailed text describing the different ways to perform Hajj, along with advice for pilgrims preparing for their Hajj and Umrah journeys; support for GPS to help pilgrims find the most important places for Hajj and Umrah rituals, including illustrations, and the ability to save locations and a universal search capability for content within the app.
