Samsung is using its time at GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK to promote its UD55A LED video wall. The UD55A comes from the firm’s UD series and is designed for commercial use in building lobbies, shopping malls and TV stations.

“Organizations seek display solutions that are of high quality, are flexible and efficient,” said Karan Chopra, Head of Solutions – Visual Display, Enterprise Business Group at Samsung Gulf Electronics. “The UD55A will further solidify Samsung’s leadership position in the commercial large screen display market and help proliferate into other commercial segments.”

The Korean electronics giant reckons that its UD55A video wall ‘raises the bar in commercial displays’. The wall offers Full HD resolution support (1,920 x 1,080 pixels), a brightness of up to 700nits and is said to be easy to install. One of the device’s key features is its ‘super slim’ bezel, which is said to measure just 5.5mm.

Another advantage that Samsung is touting with the UD55A is that whereas conventional large format displays (LFD) have to be individually connected to the content source, Samsung’s solution uses a digital loop system that allows one LFD to connect to another. Samsung adds that ‘businesses can enjoy superior picture quality with a digital visual interface (DVI) output that lets them share content between multiple LFDs’.

Samsung has always been in the forefront announcing new products faster and better than others. The strategy would be better executed once they also identify and train impalementers along side. Thus reflecting a road-map for the customers.
