Network security specialist SonicWall is focusing on its latest range of enterprise security and optimisation products at GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK.

The company’s focus at GITEX reflects the latest trends in the market. “The second half of this year has been very much focused on the enterprise products that we have brought to market and two in particular were our SuperMassive E10000 and also our E9000 which is our secure remote access products,” says Marvin Blough, Vice President of Worldwide Sales, SonicWALL.

He adds that both these products are designed for “very large” networks. “Over the last 18 months, SonicWALL has really started to expand into larger and larger networks. It’s interesting because as speed increases, it gives more opportunity for threats to evolve and people to find new ways to infiltrate your network. As the speed of the networks increases, the need for higher performance security solutions is increased and that is what we are delivering on.”

In the Middle East, Blough says that SonicWALL has seen strong growth in Saudi Arabia with “a lot of government customers, accounting and retail point of sale type customers”.

He adds that the company has been able to differentiate itself from other security players because it has some patents around deep packet inspection.

This is key as it has also helped the company expand into the optimisation space, and this is another area that SonicWALL will be promoting at GITEX.

“Because we inspect every packet, it also allows us to do a lot of other interesting things,” he says.
