Memory and storage specialist GOODRAM, has expanded its product portfolio after it inked a deal to distribute PhotoFast’s range of flash drives for Apple products.

According to GOODRAM, the move to partner with PhotoFast is part of its wider plan to broaden its business in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

The company says the new alliance will help it to not only extend its product array, but to also expand its footprint in the region as Apple products continue to gain wide acceptance in the Middle East.

Houyem Zid, Channel Manager, GOODRAM Middle East, says the company is using GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK to promote the PhotoFast products it has recently brought on board to channel partners across the region. “The partnership with PhotoFast is in line with our regional strategy to grow our business in the MENA geography,” Zid says.

Zid says the company has been meeting a lot of partners from the MENA region who have shown interest in becoming resellers for GOODRAM’s memory range of products.

She explains that the flash drive products that the company will be distributing in the regional market include i-drives for iPhone 4, iPod Touch Gen 4, iPad, Mac and PC.

Zid says aside from the new distribution partnership, GOODRAM has finalised its regional expansion plans that will see it partner with in country distributors for its memory business which it manufactures from Poland. “We are delighted with the way our business is growing in the Middle East. Throughout GITEX we have been able to meet with prospective partners from the MENA market,” she says.

Zid attributes the success GOODRAM is having in the market to its clear strategy of appointing local distributors for its memory products in the market. “Because of the policy, we have eliminated the possibility of our products being grey imported as we work closely with distributors to police the channel in this regard,” she says. GOODRAM will increase its activities in other Arab markets.
