Team Group is looking to track down additional customers in Africa and maintain the clients it already has in the Middle East with its presence this year. The company produces memory and storage products for desktop PCs, laptops and servers.

The company is now expanding into a new category of products, solid state drives (SSD). Ken Cho, Director, Overseas Sales Department, Team Group explains, “There is a new market for solid state drives. As more companies shift to cloud computing, SSDs will become a more popular form of storage. The other path of growth for SSDs is with the adoption of the ‘ultrabook’. Some workstations are already using SSDs as it is more efficient and less prone to failure. We expect to have explosive SSD growth.”

Cho said that now that the USB3.0 interface has become a standard, the need for storage devices adhering to the standard will increase. As a result Team Group offers a wide variety of storage media comprising external hard drives and USB Flash drives.
Flash cards are also a popular category for the firm. Cho comments, “Flash cards too are popular because of the higher adoption of smartphones versus traditional, basic handsets.”

Speaking about memory Cho concludes, “We have overclocked modules for enthusiasts such as the Team Xtreem Dark DDR3, which run at 1,600MHz. We also have the Xtreem LV DDR3, which is overclocked to 2,000MHz. The market is slowly growing as a result of the reduction in RAM prices - more people prefer to opt for quality memory.”
