One of the challenges that fledgling technology startups often face is a lack of suitable premises and support. This is a situation that Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), the region’s integrated free zone technology park, is keen to address and solve.

At GITEX Technology Week, the organisation is highlighting its offering of an enabling eco-system for the technology industry.

Visitors to the DSO stand will have the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the competitive cost of operations, state-of-the-art infrastructure, advanced IT network, 100% ownership, as well as the expertise and resources offered for business partners at the high-tech park.

Abdulsalam Rahma Bastaki (pictured), VP IT at DSO, says: “GITEX is an excellent platform for DSO to facilitate and encourage technology-based industries, as well as research and development initiatives to be established within its fully integrated and developed technology-park.

A wholly-owned entity of Dubai Government, Dubai Silicon Oasis operates as a free zone technology park for the semiconductor, microelectronics and other high technology-based companies looking to set up their regional headquarters and research and development (R&D) facilities in the Middle East and Africa region.

Designed as a hi-tech ICT ecosystem, Dubai Silicon Oasis offers businesses numerous advantages including a state-of-the-art infrastructure, in-house business services and strong business support such as technology investment incentives for large enterprises, entrepreneurial support, an incubation centre and venture capital funding, and these are all features that the organisation intends to promote at GULFCOMMS.

Established in 2004, Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority is wholly owned by the Government of Dubai and is considered the only technology park in the region that provides both a living and working integrated community.

DSO is a free zone authority and provides a full package of incentives and benefits to companies operating within it.
