ABBYY will appear at GITEX Technology Week for the first time to promote its range of Arabic language document capture solutions. The company, which is participating at GITEX with its master distributor for the Middle East region, Ahmed Al Hosani Computer, is a provider of solutions that automatically capture documents and convert them into electronic formats, to allow companies to save time and resources from data entry tasks, and to improve efficiency.

ABBYY also produces linguistics software and services, such as translation solutions. The company has a number of government customers worldwide, in countries including Australia, Russia, the USA, Ukraine and Lithuania, and also licenses its technology to a number of leading companies in the ICT sector such as Microsoft.

For GITEX, ABBYY will be showing its new Arabic solutions, which allow users to automatically convert paper documents such as office documents, books, magazines, contracts and so on, into digital formats, while also creating indexed archives of the digital documents, to enable companies to manage them better.

The developer is hoping to attract customers in the local markets through GITEX, in an effort to maximise opportunities for its local channel partners.

“The solution that we are going to offer the market will be a technological breakthrough in several areas and will help clients overcome their difficulties and challenges, such as being able to locate the required documents in corporate archives, theft or loss of electronic documents, and conversion of over-long documents,” ABBYY says.
