Simmtronics Semiconductors, a global manufacturer of memory modules, motherboards, VGA cards, and more, has set up a hard disk drive processing and testing facility in Dubai. This is Simmtronics second overseas manufacturing unit.

Simmtronics has been in the manufacturing business for the past 20 years and has steadily been growing its revenue and product portfolio.

“Simmtronics wants to make available the latest technologies in the IT sector, to the whole of society at affordable prices. Simmtronics is looking forward to creating more job opportunities at this plant in Dubai. Simmtronics is moving forward with its CSR programmes by providing employment opportunities to all levels of society,” says Mr. Indrajit Sabharwal, Managing Director, Simmtronics Semiconductors Ltd.

Simmtronics has been on a major expansion push globally. It now has four manufacturing facilities across the globe. Simmtronics has plans for one more product specific manufacturing facility before the end of 2011.

Arif Khan, director, Simmtronics Semiconductors FZE, Dubai, says: “Simmtronics has opened this plant in a space of over 20,000 square feetand is capable of producing over 2,000,000 hard drives in month. Starting with processing, testing and supply of internal hard disks for both laptops and desktops, Simmtronics is moving ahead and diversifying into wxternal hard disk drives. We have hired over 50 people for this plant and soon more staff for this facility will join by end of this quarter.”
