UAE telco du, which is exhibiting at GITEX Technology Week for the sixth consecutive time, is particularly excited about this year’s event.
Indeed, after achieving solid results for the first half of 2011 and completing numerous projects, du is keen to demonstrate its latest range of products and services, according to Farid Faraidooni, Chief Commercial Officer, du.
A number of recent developments at du are being highlighted at GULFCOMMS. The company recently announced the completion of the first phase of its Optical Transport Network (OTN) expansion along with its own backbone infrastructure.
With this, du claims to be among the first few telecom service providers in the Middle East to establish OTN on a national scale across the country, converging all its services. The network, in which du has already invested over $65 million, is set to extend all the way from Abu Dhabi to the northern emirates, ultimately reaching du’s submarine cable landing station in Fujairah.
Faraidooni described GULFCOMMS as the best place to demonstrate these capabilities.
“GULFCOMMS has proven to be the ideal platform to demonstrate the message that we wish to convey to our customers, partners, and peers, by giving them a fully interactive, immersive look into our brand,” the CCO says. “It is the pre-eminent platform to discuss the latest telecoms trends and services.”
