Yahoo! Middle East, ikoo and ICANN are the amongst the companies and organisations taking part in the new GITEX Digital Marketing section of GITEX Technology Week.

Yahoo! Middle East operates the popular Yahoo! Maktoob portal, created in 2009 when Yahoo acquired Jordan-based Maktoob. It now reaches 58 million users across the Middle East with a combination of Arabic and English content.

Ikoo is an advertising network that uses bulk buying power to secure low rates for companies wanting to place adverts online. The company can offer clients a variety of display banner sizes across more than 120 sites.

ICANN, the International Corporation for Assigned Names & Numbers, will be promoting the generic Top-Level Domain (gTLD). This allows organisations to apply, introduce and operate a generic Top-Level Domain of their choosing and provides an internet extension to the existing .com, .net or .org.

GITEX Digital Marketing is located in Sheikh Saeed Hall. According to GITEX organiser, DWTC, it provides an opportunity to assess, evaluate and realise the full potential of what is becoming an essential business tool.

“For advertisers and digital marketers, we will be showcasing the latest and most advanced advertising products that bring the best in digital technology, creativity and measurement to advertisers in the Middle East,” explains Ahmed Nassef, VP and MD, Yahoo! Middle East.

Rod Beckstrom, President and CEO of ICANN adds: “This year, in particular, is shaping up as a transformational period for the internet. We’re about to see a dramatic change in the Domain Name System as new generic top-level domains swing open the door to innovation.”

Isam Bayazidi, Chief Executive Officer of ikoo, says: “We are glad to be part of GITEX this year, especially with the new focus on Digital Advertising.”
