Poland-based GOODRAM offers two different series of SSDs; the SSD GOODRAM Pro and the SSD GOODRAM Play series. The former is designed for users with strict performance demands and offers claimed read and write speeds of up to 220MB/sec and 180MB/sec respectively versus 180MB/sec and 50MB/sec offered by the Play series.
Out of the box the SSD drive sports an industrial look because it is almost completely devoid of colour and packs a aluminium shell. Within the drive lurks MLC Toshiba NAND flash and, like most of the other drives here, this SSD packs TRIM support. TRIM eliminates performance and drive degradation, which plagued first generation SSDs.
The SSD Pro 128GB drive managed reasonable numbers in our AS SSD benchmark test. The drive managed sequential read and write speeds of 217.46MB/sec and 180.44MB/sec, which made it faster than almost every other drive in this grouptest.
Unfortunately when it came to the smaller, more random 4K and 64K read and write tests, it struggled to keep pace with the other drives here. This SSD isn't the best then if you're after lightning quick real world app and game performance though, with its high sequential read and write figures, it's ideal for those interested in content creation such as video editing, where large blocks of data are the norm.
Verdict: If you work with large images or videos, this SSD is ideal but less so if you care about lightning quick everyday performance.
