Although Corsair earned its reputation as the go to company for high performance and reliable products via its range of memory modules, it has diversified its product range and now offers USB sticks, cases, power supplies and more. The Force Series GT SSDs are the crème dela crème of its SSD line.
We're happy to report that when we put the Force GT to the test, it simply blew past every other SSD drive on test here in terms of overall performance. Its PCMark Vantage HDD score of 38,604 is miles ahead of every other drive and when you look at individual numbers, the Corsair becomes even more impressive. Its app and game load speeds of 153.08MB/sec and 192.81MB/sec are, again, way ahead of all the other SSD offerings.
Even in the real world the Corsair's performance shines through. We noticed our test machine booting into Windows considerably quicker and when it came to everyday tasks like compressing files, opening our massive Outlook Inbox and more, the Force Series GT just tore through it all with minimal wait times.
With a retail price of US $297 or $2.48 per gigabyte the Force Series GT is reasonably priced (for a SSD), especially when you consider the performance that the drive offers. Patriot's 120GB Wildfire SSD (also reviewed on ITP.net) is more expensive at $3.08 per gigabyte.
