Following the launch of its Premium Retail Reseller programme last year, security software vendor Kaspersky Lab Middle East and Turkey, has revealed that it is seeking to recruit more Premium Retail partners in the region.

The move to increase its partner base in the Middle East comes after the vendor recently added two new partner tiers: Trusted Reseller and Sub-Distribution Partner to its umbrella Kaspersky Partner Programme.

The vendor outlined the plan to appoint more resellers at the first partner roadshow held yesterday by Kaspersky Lab and Publishing partner Al Hosani Computer LLC, where Kaspersky 2012 security products were also officially announced to the channel.

Aman Manzoor, channel manager, Kaspersky Lab Middle East and Turkey, said the new partner programme additions are part of the broader Kasperky Partner Programme and aim to help resellers in the Middle East region to grow their business as the company cements its footprint in the software security market.

Manzoor said it's for this reason that Kaspersky has decided to embark on recruiting more Premium Retail partners to enhance the company's channel coverage and to meet the demands of its rapidly growing business in the Middle East.

"We have added the two partner tiers to the Authorised and Premium partner programmes to broaden the number of partners engaging with Kaspersky in the Middle East. This will offer more opportunities for resellers to do business through our Publishing distribution partners in the region," he said.

Manzoor explained that to sign-up for the new partner programmes, interested partners will be required to initially join as Authorised Resellers and have to meet their set annual revenue target before a distributor can recommend them for an upgrade to either Trusted, Premium or Sub-Distribution level.

According to the security vendor, Authorised resellers that do business worth $15,000 per annum with Kaspersky through its distributors will qualify for an upgrade to the Trusted Reseller level. Trusted resellers will be eligible for promotion to the Premium Retail status when they attain the $100,000 per annum revenue target, while Premium partners interested in becoming Sub-Distribution partners should meet a revenue target of $500, 000 per year.

Kaspersky says resellers on the programme stand to benefit from joint marketing activities, training, certification and other technical and sales resources. In addition, resellers will be able to access promotions, rebates and other incentives on a dedicated, secure partner portal, says Kaspersky.
