IT solutions provider Gulf Business Machines has signed a deal to provide Bahrain’s Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf with disaster recovery infrastructure.

Using the latest IBM platforms, GBM subsidiary Bahrain Business Machines will provide a business continuity solution to keep the ministry’s critical applications up and running in case of planned and unplanned outages.

In the event of a disruption, all applications and data at the ministry’s production site will be hosted and run from the disaster recovery site. As part of the project, BBM will also replace the ministry’s production system with IBM storage and storage replication platforms.

“BBM’s strong credentials in offering disaster recovery solutions reinforced their selection for this project.  With their vast experience in providing mission critical projects, we are positive that we have chosen the right vendor for the implementation of this project,” said the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf in a statement. “Our decision to work with BBM was also based on its track record with various government ministries in Bahrain. We are confident that we will benefit from continued access to best-in-class technical support and expertise even after the completion of this project.”

In addition, BBM will also provide IBM blade servers, which run applications quicker and more efficiently, giving the ministry a high return on investment, greater availability and investment protection for future technologies.
