Sony Ericsson has introduced the Xperia ray Android smartphone to the UAE, the phone features Reality display, Mobile Bravia engine and Exmor R.

The 9.4mm-thick phone features a high capacity battery and a 3.3-inch touchscreen. The phone is equipped with Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and Gmail, and comes equipped with 3G and WiFi and well as the Google browser to access the internet.

"Continuing the Xperia tradition, the enviable form factor of our latest Xperia smartphone packs in a number of features that are exceptional in the benefits they offer. For instance, the screen offers enhanced contrast and rich colours besides a scratch-resistant mineral glass surface. Its Mobile Bravia Engine makes videos and photos pop right out.  The 8.1mp camera with Exmor R for mobile sensor lets the user capture high quality, bright pictures and videos even in poor light conditions," said Rudiger Odenbach, general manager, Middle East, Sony Ericsson.

On the homescreen, users can drag and drop shortcuts, gather them in folders and customise the five home screens. The phone features widgets for things such as news, weather forecasts, and exchange rates.

The Xperia ray also has the ‘Facebook inside Xperia' application pre-installed, designed to provide Facebook access to users from most used areas of the phone, such as the picture gallery, music player, phonebook and calendar.

The Xperia ray is now available at leading electronic stores in the UAE priced at AED1,799. The phone comes in four different colours; black, gold, white and pink.
