Companies plan to develop mobile apps for over 100 media companies in the Middle East

Smartphone partner EMS, which operates in the Middle East, Africa, South East Asia, CIS and Eastern Europe has signed a partnership deal with mobile content solutions provider Polar Mobile, to launch mobile apps across multiple smartphone handsets for over 100 media companies in the Middle East region.

Customers are working with EMS on the ground locally to develop apps for all major smartphones and tablets including the iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry, PlayBook, Android, Windows and Nokia devices, using the company's SMART platform.

"EMS is focused on continuing to be the smartphone provider for the region, which includes working with media companies to enable local content across all major devices", says Babar Khan, chief executive officer, EMS. "When searching for the ideal partner, we were impressed with Polar Mobile, their track-record in media, cross-device focus and ability to scale globally".

EMS is one of RIM's strategic channel partners and focuses on the delivery, implementation and support of mobile solutions. The company also has partnerships with more than 73 mobile operators in over 50 countries.

Polar Mobile's SMART Platform powers over 750 mobile Apps across smartphones and tablets for over 300 Publishers in 10 countries, including Time Inc, Conde Nast, Bloomberg, CBS Sports, Sports Illustrated and Shanghai Daily.
