11. Halo: Reach (Xbox 360)

Halo: Reach is the prequel to Halo: Combat evolved and it takes place a few weeks before the original game. Reach offers serious local and online multiplayer opportunities but, like Gears of War 2, you can play through the whole epic campaign with a friend. If you haven't already played any of the Halo games, this is the best place to start.

12. Resident Evil 5 (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)

Since Resident Evil 5 has no competitive component, we don't blame you for asking why this game is on our list. The answer is simple, Resident Evil packs one heck of a cooperative campaign. Playing as either Chris Redfield or Sheva Alomar you're in for a long, difficult and spectacular journey that will test your abilities.

13. Family Party: 30 Great games (Wii)

This has to be one of the all time party favourites. There are 30 different games including Track 'n' Field, High Jumping, Obstacle Courses, Baseball Catching, Log Rolling, Rope Climbing and many more. Most of the games featured in this compilation are unbelievably addictive and with a built-in medal system, you can be sure that you'll never struggle to bring out your competitive spirit.

14. Wipeout: the Game (Wii)

Wipeout: the Game rolls out from the popular TV show of the same name. Players simply have to get to the end of obstacle courses without getting ‘wiped out’. The game can be played concurrently by four players and is sure to generate a lot of screaming and jeering from the rest of the party.

15. LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars (Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii)

Lets get this out of the way right now, LEGO Star wars III: The Clone Wars is a blast. This game just oozes charm and because you can play the game cooperatively with a friend, you're in for hours of laughs and entertainment. The objective is to save the galaxy from the forces of evil and you and your friend will be smiling from cheek to cheek doing it.

16. Worms: Reloaded (PC)

Worms: Reloaded is a mind altering turn based strategy game that is playable by up to four players at a time. There are more than 50 weapons which can be used to launch attacks and the objective is to get through 2D environments and be the last worm standing. This game improves on past Worrms games in every way possible.

17. You Don’t know Jack (Xbox, PS3, PC , Wii)

You don’t know Jack is a fun trivia game based on pop culture. The game spans through hundreds of questions and is ideal if you are gaming with a group of like minded people. For fans of trivia games it just doesn’t get any better than this. Up to four people can participate and join the fun, so bring out those thinking caps and dive right into the game.

18. Portal 2 (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)

Portal 2 is a fantastic first-person puzzle-platform game that’ll give you hours of fun. The cooperative mode features two lovable robots - Atlas and P-Body - and your job is to get them through each mind-bending level by using some seriously innovative ideas. The game will make you rack your brain, force you to rely on your friend and by the end of it all, will have you wanting to come back for seconds. This is one game you shouldn't miss.

19. Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition (Xbox 360, PS3)

Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition is one heck of a great game. Like Mortal Kombat, Super Street Fighter IV shines when it comes to playing against friends. And while fast fingers will help, you'll also have to play smart if you want to come out on top. It's easily one of the best beat-em-up games to play.

20. Army of Two (Xbox 360, PS3)

Army of Two is a third person shooter game which is based around two mercenaries. Teamwork then is the order of the day as you'll have to rely on your partner to get you through some properly sticky situations. The game has a wafer-thin storyline but given its top-notch game mechanics and awesome weapons, you'll be too busy having fun to care.
