1. FIFA 11 (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)

FIFA 11 is the best soccer simulator to date, period. With it you'll be able to play cooperatively with friends or create your very own virtual world cup. Just remember not to take losses personally. The game packs superb gameplay mechanics, top visuals and fairly accurate commentary and so will bring hours and hours of fast and frantic footy-fun to your get togethers. We're just waiting for when Electronic Arts makes a FIFA game that will take advantage of the Kinect or Move.

2. WWE Smackdown VS. RAW (Xbox, PS3, Wii)

WWE Smackdown VS. RAW is an engrossing wrestling simulation that can be played by a group of people. It has four-player support, so that you can play as a tag team partner with a friend or battle it out against each other in a four-way match. Keep your good crockery in for this one.

3. Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock (Xbox, PS3, Wii)

Guitar Hero is great to play with groups if your gang enjoys music and playing
faux instruments. You can play in a band on vocals, lead, bass/rhythm guitar, and drums, by using special instrument controllers to simulate playing rock music.  The objective is to hit a particular note with every note gem that is moving towards you on screen. The conglomerate of playing all the right notes gives a higher score and a sweet tune to boot. It is easily one of the most addictive and fun party games to play.

4. Gears of War 2 (Xbox 360)

If you've got family and friends that enjoy a good alien trashing, you've got to try Gears of War 2. The game's Horde mode will provide hours of butt-kicking fun but, if you want to really experience Gears of War 2, you've got to play the cooperative campaign. It's a run and gun action fest that will simply blow your mind. Gears of War 3, will take things a step further by offering four-player cooperative.

5. Mortal Kombat (Xbox 360, PS3)

Beat-em-up games are always fun and in that genre, Mortal Kombat is legendary. The latest holds true to the original and is seriously brutal, which makes it all the more satisfying. With a wide selection of combatants, this is a game that will hold your group's attention for hours.

6. Game Party: in Motion (Xbox 360 - Kinect)

Game Party: In Motion is a set of casual games that can be played by everyone at a gaming party. It includes a few basic games such as Horseshoes, Football, Hoop Shoot, Table Hockey etc. Even though these games may seem basic, they are loads of fun to play with friends.

7. Kinect Sports (Xbox 360 - Kinect)

Kinect Sports allows you to play six sports games using your entire body. The pack includes boxing and beach volleyball along with table tennis, track and field events. You also get soccer and bowling, which makes it an excellent all round sport package with phenomenal party play value.

8. Fight Night Round 4 (Xbox 360, PS3)

Fight Night is a game for boxing fans. You can play as many of the best boxers around, including Iron Mike Tyson. The game’s physics-based gameplay engine is truly phenomenal and enhances all the aspects of the game. Gameplay is quick and if you can’t keep up it’ll be your head on the canvas. A true crowd thriller, that'll keep you and your group involved for hours.

9. Forza Motorsport 4 (expected October 2011) (Xbox 360, Xbox 360 - Kinect)

Forza Motorsport 4 is bigger, badder and faster than ever. There are hundreds of cars from more than eighty manufacturers and you can drive each and every one of them around some of the best circuits in the world. Forza 4 is also the first in the series to include Kinect support and so should be a blast when you take your friends on.

10. Left 4 Dead 2 (Xbox 360, PC)

Left 4 Dead 2 is an engrossing game that can be played by up to four players simultaneously. The four main characters have only each other to trust, as they're pitted against hordes of zombies. The aim of the game is to survive the apocalypse and that can only happen if you use tactical teamwork and cooperative gameplay. Careful, your chattering teeth might just give you away.
