The problem with wireless peripherals is that they run out of charge and, in most cases, it's always at the most inopportune time. With the Wireless Solar Keyboard K750 however, Logitech says you won't have to worry about that ever happening. Logitech says its keyboard can run for three months after it has been charged.
Before we began testing the K750 we placed it near a window, which allowed sunlight to hit the keyboard's photovoltaic cells for three days. The keyboard has a battery check button that can help you get a quick idea of charge levels but if you want a more accurate indication of battery life, Logitech provides a useful app.
At the end of our month long test period where we used the keyboard for no less than eight hours a day, the K750's battery indicator still showed green. Impressive. The Wireless Solar Keyboard features a chiclet design and is extremely slim at 8.5mm. Despite this we found the keyboard sufficiently sturdy though the keys are slightly noisier than what we're used to from Logitech. Given its price tag we would have also appreciated a palm rest being supplied as standard.
Beyond its solar-powered design the K750 is also green because it doesn't use PVCs and ships in a box that is fully recyclable. If you're concerned about the environment, this is the keyboard to have.
Verdict:A green peripheral that just works but considering its steep price, it’s not a keyboard for the masses.
