Motorola Xoom hits Jordan The Motorola Xoom tablet PC is now available in Jordan from distributor Haidar Murad Group (HMG), with the 3G/Wi-Fi version available in Zain stores across the country.

The Motorola Xoom is now available in Jordan, according to an announcement by Motorola Mobility. The tablet will be available from distributor Haidar Murad Group (HMG), with the 3G/Wi-Fi version available in Zain stores across the country.

"Zain has always been at the forefront of adopting new technologies and providing state of the art products and services to our customers in Jordan. Motorola Xoom is an innovative device which our tech savvy customers will be very happy to have, and we are pleased to be the first to provide the 3G/Wi-Fi version in Jordan," said Zain Jordan CEO Ahmad Al Hanandeh.

The Xoom runs on Android's 3.1 (Honeycomb) platform, features a 1GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM, as well as a front-facing and rear-facing camera and a 10.1-inch widescreen HD display. The tablet is available at Zain for $966.

"We're excited to be bringing customers in Jordan a device as powerful as Motorola Xoom," said Raed Hafez, general manager for Motorola Mobility, Middle East & Africa. "Whether surfing the Web with multi-tab browsing, watching the latest hit movie or video-chatting with friends, Motorola Xoom will delight consumers with its ease of use, speed and vivid graphics, as well as its Motorola Smart Accessories."

The tablet device also features an interactive, customisable homescreen with moveable widgets, notifications and tabbed browsing, support for HDMI and video chat using Google Talk.

The Xoom comes with the latest Google Mobile services, which include Google Maps 5.0 with 3D interaction and access to over 250,000 apps from Android Market.

Motorola Xoom also features a built-in gyroscope, barometer, e-compass, accelerometer and adaptive lighting.
