November is the month The Lord of the Rings: War in the North will release around the world. The game will be available on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 gaming platforms.

The game will feature three playable protagonists; a man, elf and a dwarf. Each protagonist offers distinct advantages and disadvantages; Eradan is a male human ranger that offers a fast fighting style. He is also said to be an excellent archer.

Fandriel is a female Elf who specialises in magic techniques. She also has a sword and staff for close quarters, can shoot magic bolts as a ranged attack, and has the ability to use both offensive and defensive magic techniques.

Farin is the male dwarf of the party. He is heavily armored and strongest at close quarters. While he also packs long range axe throwing abilities, his strength lies in melee combat.

War in the North is a role playing game (RPG) and is being developed by Snowblind Studios. The title is said to feature stronger graphic violence than previous Lord of the Rings games and, as such, is expected to receive an ‘M' rating from the ESRB.

The game will also be available for purchase as a Collector's Edition, which features a behind-the-scenes look at the game's development, a specially crafted art book, digital download content and other extras.
