Epicor Software Corporation, a global provider of business software solutions, has said it is further expanding its channel partner eco-system in Qatar in order to meet business demand for its solutions there.

The plan comes as Epicor moves to take advantage of IT expenditure in the tiny Gulf nation, where analysts are predicting a 10% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) for IT to reach $610m by 2015.

Epicor has also stated that it is targeting companies with $2 billion or less in annual revenues, including divisions or subsidiaries of very large, multinational organisations present in Qatar.

Basil Daniells, vice president, Sales, Epicor Middle East, said the company is exploring ways to extend its existing network of partners to help meet the growing business demand in Qatar. Daniells added that when Epicor recruits new partners, the key is quality and not quantity.

"We don't go and find as many partners as possible. We are extremely careful about which partners we select because they must be able to represent the Epicor brand, as well as the company. They have to be self sufficient, hold strong vertical focus and industry expertise, and be able to replicate the Epicor organisation within their business," he said.

Daniells added that currently Epicor's sales are buoyant and its Epicor 9 pipeline for both software and services is good despite the global spending pattern not being balanced as a few years ago. "We expect this trend to be the same for Qatar where we can see healthy demand and potential growth for our solutions going forward," he said.

He said the company through the Epicor Partners for Growth programme provides a solid foundation for partners committed to excellence and customer satisfaction. According to Daniells, Epicor provides a comprehensive sales, marketing and support programme that offers its channel partners significant opportunities to grow their businesses in key industries such as manufacturing, distribution, retail, hospitality and services.

Daniells pointed out that Epicor remains focused on further strengthening and expanding its network of channel partners in Qatar to support the increasing demand for business software solutions and rapid growth of this market. "Epicor is perfectly positioned to provide the right business software solutions that enable companies to increase efficiencies, improve performance and strengthen their competitive edge," he concluded.
