A new app store featuring exclusively Islamic content has launched in time for Ramadan. is designed to support all devices and platforms and already features several apps designed for Muslims.

These apps include The Holy Quran, prayers apps and alarms, ringtones, wallpapers, Muslim foods, Islamic finance, as well as a section for apps designed for children and another for women.

Downloads also feature apps that allow users to watch Peace TV and Live Madinah TV 24 hours a day.

According to Youssef Ridene, one of the app store's creators, within a few days of launching, the website had had hundreds of visitors and thousands of downloads.

To download any of the applications featured on the store, which are all free, users must log in using their mobile, tablet or smartphone browsers and can then download apps directly to their device.

Smartphone and tablet users can also scan a barcode to upload the app directly to their smartphone or tablet.

The content is currently available in both English and French, but Arabic is not supported.

Ridene says that there are many developers currently working on developing more apps for the site and developers can join up on and begin creating their own app straight away.
