A DLC for the recently released Duke Nukem Forever has just been announced. The ‘Hail to the Icons Parody Pack' will be available on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 later this year.

Gearbox says the DLC will poke fun at other shooters on the market such as Doom, Call of Duty and Team Fortress 2. The company also says that gamers who pre-ordered Duke and redeemed their First Access Codes will get the pack for free but that other gamers will have to pay for it.

The DLC includes three new modes; Freeze Tag, Hot Potato and Hail to the King. Freeze Tag allows gamers to cooperate so that they can freeze and shatter opponents in succession for point streaks and combos. Hot Potato on the other hand looks at how long each player can hold onto ‘the babe' the longest while the last mode, Hail to the King, offers free-for-all Duke-style combat.

The Hail to the Icons Parody Pack also features four new maps; Call of Duke, Sandbox, Inferno and 2Forts1Bridge. Each map also features a weapon unique to each.

Duke Nukem Forever was released on June 14 in North America. On July 2010 Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of publishers 2K Games, announced that game sales were half of what they expected.
