What were the company’s main milestones in 2010?

The year 2010 for Almasa was a year of restructuring and focusing on core business and strength and identifying strategic, long term vendors. We identified Asus as one of these vendors, and formed a separate Asus Division to take this business forward, and to double Asus business in the region.

What are your strategic plans for the rest of 2011?

In FY 11, part of our plan is to focus on the value business where we are in the process of building and expanding this sector, through our partners Avaya and HP Networking. We are looking at expanding our portfolio, our reach, our expertise, bringing good value to the vendors in the SMB space, and improving fulfillment on the enterprise side. We
see an opportunity in this space and are building on this momentum with the vendors in this current market.

In addition, we are looking into growing our existing relationships; finding vendors whose approach to the market is in line with ours.

Verdict

Almasa has strengthened its focus on its core business this year, and has slowed the loss of revenues that it saw in 2009, although it has yet to reverse the trend completely. Close alignment with market leaders such as Avaya and HP Networking will undoubtedly help to build lucrative business in the value and infrastructure.
