Do you think distribution has recovered from recent economic upheaval?

The instability in the region is having a prolonging effect on what started as an economic crisis. The market is far from fully recovered.

What were the company’s main milestones in 2010?

We have attracted a lot of fresh talent into the organisation, we have established new markets like Kuwait and Iraq, grown our service capability across the region, and we have deepened our relationship with our existing vendors, and initiated new relationships in the consumer electronics area.

What are your strategic plans for the rest of 2011?

Continue the expansion into key markets, attract new vendors, and continue to grow and develop the organisation. We are also focused on channel development, to introduce new solutions to partners and to support them in being able to reach new opportunities.


Emitac’s apparent drop in sales is due to the splitting of the group into four, so 2009 figures represent the whole of Emitac’s IT business, while 2010 is just the ‘new’ Emitac distribution arm. The company is taking steps to diversify its portfolio, to reduce reliance on core brands, and is looking to grow value-add business as well.
