THQ closes down Kaos development studio Homefront was Kaos Studios' most recent game title

Publishing house THQ has shut down New York-based development house Kaos Studios, who developed the recently released first person shooter (FPS) Homefront.

The publishing house issued an official statement that stated the move is ‘a strategic realignment within its internal studio structure.'

The publisher announced that the Montreal Studio will take over development reigns of the Homefront franchise. A spokesperson for THQ said the following, "THQ continues its strategy of aligning the best industry talent with the company's marquee franchises. The Montreal studio will take over product development and overall creative management for the Homefront franchise. The Montreal studio actively collaborated with KAOS on Homefront.

Homefront was released in the North American market on March 15. The game was released in Europe and Australia on March 17 and 18 respectively followed by Japan on April 14. The game received mixed reviews from gaming press around the world. Read Windows' review of Homefront here.
