Logitech has unveiled its new lapdesk, to allow laptop users to comfortably use their notebook computers in their laps.

The Logitech Touch Lapdesk N600 has a multi-layered heat-shielding design, to deflect heat from the PC away from the user's lap, and an anti-slip surface to keep the laptop in place.

The lapdesk also features a 5-inch, retractable touchpad with multi-touch navigation, that slides out from the side of the desk, to give the user more control space for the laptop. The lapdesk connects to the notebook through the Logitech Unifying Receiver, which plugs into a USB port, and then wireless syncs the laptop to the control panel.

The lapdesk offers up to six months of battery life.

Logitech Touch Lapdesk N600 is due for release in the UAE in September, with an RRP of 400AED ($108).

"We've seen people using everything from pillows to pets to shield their laps from the heat their laptops generate, " said Yousif Atwan, Logitech regional director Middle East & Africa. "Our lapdesks are much more effective and, with the addition of a multi-touch touchpad, you'll get the added capability to more easily move through your favourite content without attaching additional peripherals."
