Canon Middle East has launched the new Canon PowerShot SX230 HS, which features GPSi technology designed to allow users to tag pictures on the move.

The camera is available in blue, pink or black finishes and is small, allowing for easy portability.

The Canon PowerShot SX230 HS has a 28mm wide-angle lens with 14x optical zoom and optical Image Stabiliser technology.

The camera also has a 12.1 Megapixel CMOS and Canon's Smart Auto mode, which is designed to detect up to 32 different scenes and apply different picture settings appropriate to shooting conditions. The camera's HS System is designed to reduce blur and image noise, particularly in low light or night shooting conditions.

The PowerShot also shoots Full HD movies (1080p) with optical zoom, stereo sound, Dynamic IS and HDMI. Movie shooting modes include High-speed Burst and Super Slow Motion Movie.

The camera measures 7.5 cm wide and has a PureColor II G LCD.
